Meet Joy

Joy is the Project Coordinator of the Intango Vocational Skills Centre and a vital member of the Build Rwanda team.

Joy has been attending and working at Christian Life Assembly for over 10 years. Having lived in Canada while completing her university degree and starting a family with her husband, Alex, Joy has a diverse, culturally rich background that suits her well for the Intango Project Coordinator role. Joy serves the vision of Christian Life Assembly with passion and a clear determination to help those however she can. It was over ten years ago that she felt called to leave her successful business in fashion design to work as CLA's project coordinator. Since taking on this role, Joy oversaw the construction and establishment of the Iranzi Clinic, a high-quality medical clinic located on the main CLA campus offering holistic services to mothers and children. She has also became the Mercy Ministries coordinator, a women's support and outreach program that involves educational programs, home visitations, and numerous other endeavours which assist the most vulnerable women within Kigali.

Most recently, Joy has been the project coordinator for Intango. This role covers a large variety of responsibilities, such as maintaining the construction budget and costs, liaising with the Canadian team, developing curriculum, helping facilitate the shipping of containers to Rwanda from Canada, coordinate supporting teams, sit on all project committees, regularly report to and update the Christian Life Assembly congregation, and much more. Her knowledge, expertise, and passion for the success of Intango has been fundamental to its ongoing construction and Phase completion. As with the entire Build Rwanda and Intango teams, Joy deeply cares about equipping Rwanda's next generations with the skills needed to ensure employability and produce livelihoods that will transform communities. This is ultimately rooted in the love of Christ. Joy is also passionate about sharing God's faithful and timely blessings that have made Intango possible.

Thank you, Joy, for your heartfelt commitment to Intango and the next generations of Rwanda.
